valentines day

hello lovelies

just finished off (the homemade portion of) my valentines day gift to my boyfriend (another pinterest find) and it was super simple to do and only required a few materials most of which i had around the house

You will need:
deck of cards
card stock for the front and back cover (tip: i used the 2 joker cards)
paper
single hole punch
markers / pens etc
2 binder rings (i used 1")
scissors
tape / glue

This is the most original source i can find for the idea, but i have seen a lot of variations, check out pinterest and do your own spin on it!

Here goes
Step 1: Start with a box of playing cards, i found one left over from a party the other weekend

Step 2: Take a hole punch and pick where you want to make the holes, depending on the size of the binder rings you get this might change, i just eyeballed it.
Step 3: Use the first card and include it in in a group (as many as your hole punch can handle) as a template for the rest of the cards as you want them all to be even.

Step 4-6: Cut out some paper and write on the cards all of the 52 things that you love about your significant other (hopefully you can think of enough ;] ) i have seen some variations where people printed stickers out or hand wrote on the card itself, up to you, then glue, tape, sticky tack etc the paper to the cards, then throw the binder rings on there.

Step 7: Take your two joker cards, cover them with whatever you have lying around, i used wrapping paper from his other gift, which was THIS amazing lamp, check it out, and add your title and anything else you like and boom youre all done :)

I hope you all have a lovely valentines day with whomever you may be sharing it with, remember if you dont have a significant other, there is always someone out there that loves you <3

happy anniversary!

Tomorrow is my anniversary with the sweetest man i know
since it is so close to Valentines day we decided to save presents for then but i couldn't not make him a little something. I scoured pinterest to find something that i could whip together with what i had on hand, so besides the double french vanilla cake i made for the occasion i also found this cute little DIY accordion card.

Unfortunately i didnt end up getting step by step photos because it is all very simple but i used this step by step guide over at ruthbleakley.com. It was super simple and adorable to make try it out for yourself and let me see what you come up with, there are so many ways to interpret the design, i just have to add something on the front and of course all the mushy - ness inside.

happy diy-ing!
